District 5
Located: in the Pest side of the city
Public transport: metro lines M1, M2, M3; several different tram lines, including tram 2, 4-6, 47-49; numerous different bus lines.
Most known parts: Váci street, Fashion street, Deák Ferenc tér, Basilica, Parliament, café Gerbaud etc.

Practically speaking we mean District 5 when we mention Downtown or City Centre of Budapest but in reality Districts 5, 6 and 7 create a beautiful, harmonious unit in the heart of the city.
The central districts (V., VI, VII.) in Pest offer a wide array of sights, landmarks, museums, parks, shops, as well as places to eat and entertain and luxury hotels with a beautiful view on the river and the Buda side of the city. This is also the centre of most of our governmental bodies. Most of the downtown areas are ideal for exploration on foot but public transportation links are excellent too to get you anywhere from here.
Some of the most famous buildings of the city can be found in the 5th District, for instance the beautiful Houses of Parliament, St. Stephan’s Basilica, the Liberty square, not to mention the unforgettable sight of the Chain Bridge, one of the landmarks of Budapest, from the elegant Danube Promenade.
The architecture of the 5th District is characterized by beautifully decorated turn of the century buildings with upper-middle class, spacious flats, many of which are owned by foreign investors and given to rent or transformed into comfortable, stylish homes.
Also here we find such a famous sports in the city like Váci street, Vörösmarty square with Gerbaud café, Deák Ferenc square where, Ritz-Carlton hotel, Fashion street full of boutique shops and many more.
As it was mentioned earlier, in this district there are most of building are classical buildings. But lately there were built few very unique and luxury residential buildings, one of which is Emerald Residence, which is located right next to Váci street on beautiful square of Szervita tér. Here anyone can buy apartment, who wants to be in a downtown, but at the same time to get the most out of their apartment.
