This district is located in front of Parliament, in Buda side of the city. It is a historical district, also known as a Castle district. Many of its streets and buildings are included into UNESCO. It is mostly known among foreigners and tourists with its famous attractions and spots like Fisherman’s Bastion, Mathias church, Batthyány tér etc. This district is great for investment if the property bought in a right part of the district (like many districts in Budapest, this district also have different parts).
The best part to buy property is the one that located right next to the river, also known as a “Víziváros”. This part of the district is very versatile from investment perspective and the apartment can be rented short and long term, to young students or families, to foreigners and locals. Its most attractiveness consist of easy and comfortable public transport (including metro), easy and fast access from downtown and great infrastructure. In this part of district can be found such known spots like Batthyany tér (metro line M2), Szilágyi Dezső square with beautiful church located there, Bem rakpart (riverside), many restaurants, cafés, pubs and bars. Its is located right in front of Parliament on the other side of the Danube, in Buda.
There is also part of the district that located on hills. This part is more green, consists of more nature and parks and more suitable infrastructure for families and those who desire to live in a quiet and more green area of the city. This part is perfect for families, especially with children. Despite being not the nearest to the downtown (although it is very easy to get to the downtown), infrastructure is highly developed and you will find everything necessary for comfortable life, including supermarkets, shops, banks, schools, kid gardens, playgrounds, hospitals etc.
